Over the holidays

Being hardoworking students, we decided we meet up to prepare for the RE semi finals on Friday. Despite the fact that our holidays only lasted 1 week, we met up for 4 days to finish the poster and also the presentation.


On monday,we met up to start brainstorming ideas for the semi final presentation on Friday. This was very challenging as we wanted to come up with interesting ideas that would wow the judges. We wanted to show our SL project as a journey. A picture speaks a thousands words and hence, we decided to present our project as a picture story. Through various interesting acities, we bonded even more strongly. hint hint*

Tues was where we started with the design of our poster. Since we could not get any inspiration, we decided to just finish the title of the poster first. At the same time, we also brainstormed ideas to design our poster. In the end, we came up with an interesting idea of a wheel to show our journey. Just like wheel of fortune. Spin spin spin!!! Compiling of information for the poster took place and Chairman Chew showed his brilliant IT skills to design the printouts.

On Weds, we focussed on completing the script and the powerpoint. Although we already had a good script in the preliminaries, we wanted to do something special and hence, we redid both of them. This was not easy at all and we had to finalize the ideas that we have such as the Starfish Story inspired by Cytam. With this, we took turns to do the script and powerpoint and at the same time, those not typing gave comments and ideas to further improve it. At 7pm, this task was finally accomplished.

Ok, the fourth day. Having sacrificed our holiday to finish RE for the past 3 days, this was the last part of our preperations which involves the completion of the poster and the cutting of the script. Not being art-inclined people was a great problem as it was hard for us to design the board. When it was finally completed, there was a sense of achievement and it looks so colourful and cool =).

With all the hard work that we have put in for the past 4 days, we really hope that we would get into the finals of the SL congress. But then again, its about the process, the results just come as a bonus. =)
